As per Astrology, can you Wear Rudraksha & Tulsi Mala together?

Astrological significance of Rudraksh and Tulsi

In astrology, Rudraksha beads and Tulsi (Holy Basil) are not commonly associated with the traditional Western astrological system. However, they do have significance in Vedic or Indian astrology, where specific gemstones, herbs, and materials are believed to have an impact on an individual’s life based on their birth chart and planetary positions. Here’s a brief overview of how Rudraksha beads and Tulsi may be considered in Vedic astrology:

  1. Rudraksha Beads in Vedic Astrology:
    • In Vedic astrology, certain types of Rudraksha beads are associated with different celestial bodies (planets) and can be recommended based on an individual’s horoscope.
    • Rudraksha beads may be suggested by Vedic astrologers to strengthen or mitigate the influence of specific planets in an individual’s birth chart.
    • For example, a 5-mukhi Rudraksha bead is often associated with the planet Jupiter (Brihaspati), and it may be recommended for those who have Jupiter-related challenges in their horoscope.
  2. Tulsi in Vedic Astrology:
    • Tulsi is also considered in Vedic astrology for its beneficial properties, especially in remedial astrology.
    • It is believed to have a purifying effect and can be used in rituals to appease malefic planets or to enhance the positive influence of benefic planets in one’s horoscope.
    • Wearing a Tulsi mala (necklace) or using Tulsi leaves in various religious ceremonies may be suggested as a remedial measure to counteract negative planetary influences.

It’s important to note that the use of Rudraksha beads and Tulsi in astrology is primarily associated with Hindu or Vedic astrology practices. In this system, astrologers consider a wide range of factors, including planetary positions, dasha (planetary periods), and the specific challenges and strengths indicated in an individual’s birth chart. Remedial measures like wearing Rudraksha beads or Tulsi are seen as ways to mitigate or enhance these astrological influences.

If you’re interested in using Rudraksha beads or Tulsi for astrological purposes, it’s advisable to consult with a qualified Vedic astrologer who can provide guidance based on your birth chart and specific astrological needs.

Cultural significance of Rudraksh and Tulsi

In Hindu culture, Rudraksha beads and Tulsi (Holy Basil) are both considered sacred and have significant astrological and spiritual importance.

  1. Rudraksha Beads:

    • Rudraksha beads are seeds from the fruit of the Rudraksha tree, primarily found in the Himalayan region, Indonesia, and parts of Southeast Asia.
    • These beads have great astrological and spiritual significance in Hinduism. They are believed to have originated from the tears of Lord Shiva and are often associated with him.
    • Rudraksha beads are known for their unique number of facets or “mukhis,” ranging from one to twenty-one or more. Each type is believed to have specific astrological and spiritual benefits.
    • These beads are considered powerful tools for meditation and spiritual growth. They are believed to help in balancing the chakras and promoting inner peace and well-being.
    • Astrologically, wearing Rudraksha beads can have a positive influence on an individual’s life, depending on the specific type of Rudraksha and the individual’s horoscope. They are believed to offer protection, improve mental clarity, and enhance the wearer’s spiritual progress.
  2. Tulsi :

    • Tulsi, or Holy Basil, is a revered plant in Hinduism. It is considered the most sacred of all plants.
    • Tulsi is associated with Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. It is often planted in Hindu households and temples.
    • Astrologically, Tulsi is believed to have the power to ward off negative influences and enhance positive energies. It is often planted or worn as a necklace.
    • Wearing a Tulsi mala (necklace) is considered auspicious and is believed to bring protection, good health, and spiritual benefits.
    • Tulsi is also used in Ayurvedic medicine for its various health benefits, which are often associated with astrological well-being.

Both Rudraksha beads and Tulsi are symbols of spirituality, purity, and devotion in Hinduism. Their astrological significance is intertwined with their spiritual and cultural importance, and they are often used as tools for meditation, prayer, and seeking blessings and protection from the divine. The specific benefits and significance can vary based on an individual’s belief, the type of Rudraksha bead, and the rituals or practices associated with Tulsi and Rudraksha.

Religious significance of tulsi mala and Rudrakha

The reason why Sanatan dharma (Known as Hinduism) is not easily defined is because it’s not quite a religion. Sanatan Dharma is not a limited concept & will never be.

No Vedic scriptures do not mention anywhere that wearers of rudraksha can’t wear tulsi beads. The highest universal powers don’t have issues with each other, yet we humans are arguing over this. Neither Krishna nor Shiva nor any authoritative figure of Sanatana dharma has ever forbidden it.

Some Hindus are strong believers and worshipers of Lord Shiva who are termed the “Shivaites “. Similarly, some Hindus & especially the ISKCON community are believers and followers of Lord “Vishnu” as the “Vaishnavites”. The people who were “Shivaites” preferred “Rudraksha” as it is the creation of Lord Shiva. While on the other hand the worshipers of “Vishnu” preferred Tulsi Bead as it was connected to the Lord “Vishnu”.

There was a simmering rivalry in these groups. This led to the wrong notion that one cannot wear a Rudraksha and Tulsi bead together. As the years went by the rivalry confined only in the minds and hearts of a few. Such concepts are not as dominant as they were in earlier eras.

Rudraksha mala is very auspicious and related to lord Shiva. Rudraksha mala gives a fearless and disease-free life so that individuals can think the world like the lord shiva thinks. Tulsi mala is dedicated to lord Vishnu and brings Vaishnava on wearing. It gives you a cool mind and a cool body.

Both are the same and equivalent. Both have different purposes and have different benefits on wearing. Rudraksha works on the Chakras in a specific manner to promote healing and positivity. Tulsi beads benefit the wearer in a different way, promoting purification and satvik tendencies. Tulsi has a lot of medicinal properties. It can be consumed for different medical benefits. Just any part of the plant you take, it will have good health benefits on consumption.

In my limited understanding and knowledge, I would suggest that yes u can wear both mala together. The only concern would be that the wearer should be clear in his mind and not even a doubt regarding the fact that both these mala can be worn together. If still the doubt persists in the mind of the wearer, then it is best that not to wear them. Even mother nature cannot work for you if you doubt her.

Further, it is important to understand that both of these beads are Organic Gems and are gifts of nature. Nature does not make such distinctions. These wonderful beads have been offered to mankind as a whole. It is we humans who with our fake theories and egocentric views create such divide. Further, there is no known chemical, electromagnetic field or anything else generated from these beads which are in conflict with each other.

Note: Focus on one mala and do japa/dhyan daily with proper surrender to god. It will give much better results than wearing multiple malas for the sake of just wearing only.
